Our Jewellery
Handmade Jewellery
Born In Manila jewellery uses recycled newspaper, magazines and ring pulls to make beautiful, unique designs, each carefully produced by hand.

The mothers who make the jewellery work in a designated livelihood room in one of the PCF schools. As the first batch of graduates leave the school they will have the opportunity to work alongside their parents making jewellery, enabling them to earn a regular wage and sparing them the unemployment and poverty that so many Filipinos on Pier 18 are faced with.
Each different style of jewellery is named after one of the jewellery team members - we’d like to introduce you to some of the people who crafted the Born In Manila range.

“My name is Alma. They teach me how to make these beads. Then I earn money. And now I have advice. I have 4 kids so I can afford their dinner food and our daily life”
Mylene

“Since the time I started making paper beads a lot of things changed in my life. What my children ask me to give them for school I can supply, even more so for food. We don’t need to owe stores money for food anymore.”
Jennelyn

Jennelyn
“Before I came in the livelihood, I used to stay at home, always thinking of problems. Sometimes I am feeling empty, but when I’m making jewelleries, I’m happy. My husband has no work, so I earn the income.”
